  • Currently appealing in the Second Department, New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, a trial judge's misapplication of expert accountant's findings in a seven-figure matrimonial action, in Corcoran v. Corcoran, Index # 2022-06342

  • Handled appeal in the First Department, New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, a trial judge's December 2020 granting of plaintiff's complaint to enforce gambling debts, which are illegal in New York, in Bronson v. Jacobs, Index # 652897/2020
     

  • In January 2018 the Firm won an appeal overturning a $1.2 million judgment entered against its client. Retained post-judgment to prosecute the appeal, the Firm succeeded in overturning a judgment in a court where on average, less than 10% of judgments get overturned.  The decision is PAL Environmental Services, Inc. v. LJC Dismantling Corp., New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department, Index # 2015-11743, 157 AD3d 808 (2011)
     

  • Retained post-trial, the Firm successfully reduced a $1.6 million verdict rendered in a bench trial. The decision is Richmor Aviation Inc. v. Sportsflight Air, Inc., New York 3rd Department Appellate Division, Index # 82 A.D. 3d 1423, 3d Dept. 2011.

  • Appealed in the First Department, New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, a trial judge's denial of plaintiff's motion to amend the complaint filed by his prior legal counsel, in Ivancev v. Garido, Index # 150434/2015
     

  • Handled and argued appeal to set aside $1 million-plus jury verdict which the Firm itself had procured. The decision is Jeffrey Schondorf v. Brookville Energy Partners, LP and Wayne Piasio, New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department, Index # 01-06034. N.Y.A.D. 2 Dept. 2003, 303 A.D.2d 396, 755 N.Y.S.2d 876, 2003 N.Y. Slip Op. 11712.
     

  • Handled appeal to contest the awarding of pre-litigation discovery.
     

  • Assisted in an appeal concerning the appointment of a receiver to marshal assets.
     

  • Handled an appeal contesting the award of lifetime medical payments to an injured employee.
